It gives us great pleasure to welcome you to The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Rabboni Parish, Stevenage through our website information channel. Rabboni Parish is a charitable Pentecostal church organisation that has been operating in Stevenage since 29th May 2005. It is also a registered member of Churches Together in Stevenage (CTIS).
RCCG Rabboni is a family and community-oriented Pentecostal church, being the first parish of RCCG in Stevenage. Our church is made up of people from different and diverse backgrounds, nationalities, cultures and age groups. We have different departments including youth, welfare, outreach, teaching, community engagement etc. Our mission has always been to teach the word of God undiluted, raise Godly men and women, meet the spiritual and physical needs of members and the community we belong to and be a positive force in moulding the lives of the youth in our community to realise their full potential in all realms of life.
It is gratifying to note that RCCG Rabboni is noted in the community for her uncompromising stand for holiness, love, righteousness, honesty and obedience all lawfully constituted authority and ultimately to God Almighty through His Word. The Holy Bible is our Manual of Procedure, hence, RCCG Rabboni is known for its aversion for anything that may put the name of the Lord into disrepute and its quest for producing heaven-bound Christians – the pivot on which our faith is anchored. We are proud to reiterate here again the cardinal principles upon which the church was founded and sustained since its inception thus:
· Teaching and preaching the Word of God undiluted with the resultant effect of bringing souls to the saving grace of God (Mark 16:15-18; 2 Timothy 2:15; 2 Timothy 4:2-5)
· Teaching, learning and practising how to praise God effectively for desired results. (Hebrews 13:15; Revelation19:5)
· Teaching and learning how to pray effectively and fervently for prayers to be answered. (1Thesalonians 5:17; James 5:16 Mathew 26:41)
· Teaching and raising Godly children, on which the family, community and the nation’s future rely. (Proverbs 22:6)
· Learning and practising to do good to all men because of the Law of Harvest. (Galatian 6:7-10)
· Equipping all to experience and live a successful and fulfilled life. (Gen 1:28)
HISTORY OF RCCG RABBONI, STEVENAGE
RCCG Rabboni started as a house fellowship in March 2005 by the then Deacon Solomon & Mrs Joke Oke upon relocation to Stevenage from north London. Starting the house fellowship was in obedience to the instruction of our father in the Lord, the General Overseer, Pastor E.A. Adebove who had consistently taught us over the years that wherever we find ourselves in the world if there was no RCCG, we should start a weekly house fellowship in our homes. This we did, and by the end of the fifth week, our sitting room could no longer contain the crowd. Inevitably, it was agreed that the time had come to start a proper church, hence we searched and found a suitable location at the St Nicholas Community Centre on Canterbury Way in Stevenage for our weekly and Sunday services. The inaugural service on Sunday 29th May 2005 was attended by many senior Pastors of RCCG and presided over by our then Area Pastor. The church grew spiritually and numerically since then and this resulted in moving the church venue a few times to larger facilities. To the glory of God, we have now settled in our permanent location at 37 The Oval Square, Stevenage since August 2016 where we conduct our Sunday services, Tuesday Bible studies, night vigils, training, seminars, community engagements and outreach etc. Our venue is also a centre for the RCCG School of Disciples and RCCG Bible College.
Our mission has always been to equip the people with the word of God so that they will not be tossed about with every wind of doctrine, but rather be confident in the Almightiness of the Lord God who can help to meet all needs.
WHAT GOD EXPECTS OF US
· Luke 10:27 “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbour as yourself.”
· Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things”.
